This is a very mobile and widespread migrant species. Most adults are seen close to breeding areas, in gardens and areas where brassica crops are grown from May to August

The larvae feed on wild or cultivated species of the Cruciferae, with a strong preference for cultivated varieties of Brassica oleracea such as cabbage
