A rather striking but scarce species reported a number of times in recent years. Flies in July and August and may be found in a variety of habitats. Caterpillars feed upon a wide range of herbaceous plants which includes common nettle (Urtica dioica), white dead-nettle (Lamium album) and honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum)
