Acleris aspersana   (Hübner, [1817])

Small Rufous Tortrix

A variable species, common across Scotland, with numerous records from the Outer Hebrides. The main flight period is from July to August and can be seen by day in the afternoon and evening, it also comes to light. Found in moorland, marshy habitats and machair. Numerous herbaceous food-plants are used by the larvae.
