Dotted Cloak

Abundant during June and July in various habitats, including calcareous grassland (machair). It is attracted to moth lamps but also flies by day. The food-plants are many herbaceous plants. The pale form (depicted below) is more commonly found farther north in the Faeroes and Scandinavia.
