Epinotia tedella  (Clerck, 1759)

Common Spruce Tortrix

A well-marked species when fresh, there is just one pre-1900 record from Lewis followed by single examples from North Uist 2011 and South Uist 2018. This conifer species flies from May to July, the larvae feeding upon Norway spruce (Picea abies) and Sitka spruce (P. sitchensis).
