Eupithecia intricata (Zetterstedt, 1839)

Edinburgh Pug

Rare, first recorded on the Outer Hebrides in July 2009 with just two subsequent records. Once recorded as a subspecies along with Freyer's pug but now synonymised. The main flight period is from May to June. Juniper (Juniperus communis) and members of the family Cupressaceae are the larval food-plants.
