Scoliopteryx libatrix (Linnaeus, 1758)

Well distributed across Scotland but increasingly scarce towards the west. First recorded on South Uist in 2010, with 13 subsequent records as of 2024. This species overwinters as an adult and is active from August to November and March to June. The larvae feed on various willows (Salix spp.) and aspen (Populus tremula).
