Lime-speck Pug

A common coastal species in the Outer Hebrides, biased towards the southern islands. The flight period is May to August over open spaces such as machair and sand-dunes. The larval food-plants are herbaceous including common ragwort (Senecio jacobaea), goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) and common knapweed (Centaurea nigra).
