Amphipyra tragopoginis  (Clerck, 1759)

Mouse Moth

A frequently recorded species across the archipelago but mainly in the south. The flight period is July to September over moorland, machair and sand-dunes. The larvae feed are a wide range of herbaceous and cultivated plants.
