Red Chestnut
Common and widespread in broadleaved woodland, scrub and gardens from late March to May. The larvae feed on a variety of woody and herbaceous plants including bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), willows (Salix spp.) and bedstraws (Galium spp.).
