Idaea aversata (Linnaeus, 1758)
Riband Wave
Scarce in the north-west and first recorded in the Outer Hebrides in 2010. There are two forms: one with a darkish band across the wings and this plainer form ab. remutata which predominates in the north. Active from June to August where it is found in small numbers in suitable habitats. A range of perennial plants are used by the larvae.
