Phragmatobia fuliginosa  (Linnaeus, 1758)

Widely recorded across the archipelago. The flight period is from April to September in two generations and can be seen over moorland, scrub and established gardens. The larvae feed on numerous herbaceous plants including plantains (Plantago spp.) and common ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
