Hydriomena ruberata  Freyer, [1831]

Ruddy Highflyer

An uncommon species In Scotland, it is found in the west and central areas; the very similar May highflyer (Hydriomena impluviata) predominates in the east. It prefers open wooded areas and can be found from May to June. Eared willow (Salix aurita) is the preferred food-plant but other willow species are used.
