Rare and first recorded on the Outer Hebrides in 2010, it has a widespread distribution in Britain, but it is uncommon in Scotland. Current records are from Lewis and South Uist. Its preferred habitat of open grassy areas is plentiful so should prove more common. Bivoltine and occurs from May to June and autumn. Eggs are laid on Colt’s-foot (Tussilago farfara).
