Xestia sexstrigata (Haworth, 1809)
Six-striped Rustic
Common and well represented across the islands but slightly biased towards the south. On the wing from July to September near wet and boggy habitats but also in dryer conditions such as gardens. The larvae feed on herbaceous plants such as bedstraws (Galium spp.) and plantains (Plantago spp.).
