Euplexia lucipara (Linnaeus, 1758)
Small Angle Shades
A frequently recorded species across the archipelago. A distinctive species, sitting with wings creased and held horizontally when fully at rest. On the wing from May to July over moorland, scrub and gardens. The larvae feed on a wide range of herbaceous plants but particularly like bracken (Pterideum aquilinum).
