Syndemis musculana  (Hübner, [1799])

Dark-barred Tortrix

A fairly common moth found in a variety of habitats currently only recorded from the southern islands. An attractive moth when fresh but can become difficult to identify when worn. An overwintering species which can be found on the wing from early evening from June to October and in the following spring when the full-grown larvae pupate. Several food-plants are used including bog-myrtle (Myrica gale), birches (Betula spp.) and brambles in the family, Rosaceae.
