A rare species which was first recorded on the Outer Hebrides in 2010; this is outside its normal range of southern Scotland. The foodplants are not found in the islands so breeding is unlikely. Active from August to September. Buckthorn (Rhamnus catharticus) and alder buckthorn (Frangula alnus) are the primary foodplants
