Family: Pieridae Checklist Number: 58.003
Anthocharis cardamines (Linnaeus, 1758)
Orange-tip
The first modern record was in 2014 from Lewis with two subsequent sightings from Barra and Berneray. It likes woodland rides and edges with damp marshy ground and ditches. It has spread rapidly northwards in recent years, and we can anticipate a colony becoming established. The flight period is from April to mid-June.
