Nycterosea obstipata  (Fabricius, 1794)

Gem

A rare autumn migrant to the Outer Hebrides, this species has been found on just four occasions between September and November. Little is known about the larval diet in the wild though the species is unlikely to breed in the Outer Hebrides where it would be unable to overwinter.
