Mainly a southern species and into the borders, also recorded on Mull and two records from Stornoway woods. It's mainly found in woodland habitats, flying in June and July . Feeds on bramble (Rubus fruticosus), raspberry (R. idaea) and wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca)
