Micropterix calthella (Linnaeus, 1761)
Plain Pollen-moth
The pollen-moths depicted on our website are ubiquitous in Britain but rarely recorded on the Outer Hebrides. They are on the wing up here in mid-summer and frequent herbaceous plants such as buttercups. This species has been recorded from Lewis on marsh marigold or king cup (Caltha palustris).
