Geometra papilionaria (Linnaeus, 1758)
Large Emerald
Rare, just two records from Lewis in July 2007 and June 2023. A large striking geometrid moth found on scrubby heaths and open woods where it favours trees such as birch (Betula spp.), hazel (Corylus avellana) and alder (Alnus glutinosa).
