Opostega salaciella (Treitschke, 1833)
Sorrel Cap
First recorded in 2012 with additional records from South Uist and Lewis. A tiny white moth, 5mm long with white eye-caps at the base of the antennae. The habitat is open grassland, where it can be found weakly flying from June to August. The larval food-plant is thought to be sheep's sorrel (Rumex acetosella).
