Large Pale Clothes Moth
Sterling & Parsons (2023) show the species as widespread in northern Scotland, but NBN has only 9 records, 4 for the Inner Hebrides and 5 for the Outer Hebrides. It was first recorded here in 2012 with all 5 records are from South Uist and Eriskay. It’s found in sheltered habitats such as outbuildings, barns and even caves. The larvae feed on man-made fibres and are also found in bird and wasp nests.
