Caloptilia rufipennella (Hübner, 1796)
Rufous Stilt
The species was only discovered in Britain in 1970 and had a scattered northern and eastern distribution. Still rare in the islands, but this is probably due to the relative scarce distribution of the food plants, which are sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) and field maple (Acer campestre). The adults emerge in August and over-winter.
