Family: Yponomeutidae Checklist Number: 16.001
Yponomeuta evonymella (Linnaeus, 1758)
Bird-cherry Ermine
It has an erratic distribution in Scotland, first recorded on South Uist in 2013. The handful of subsequent records have all come from the same island and all been caught in July. Known as a wanderer, it can be found far from its food plant, which, unsurprisingly, is bird cherry.
