Speckled Tip Moth
Sporadic and seemingly coastal across Scotland but well represented on South Uist. A small, pale and delicate species found amongst birches (Betula spp.). Appears to be increasing with a recent spate of records between its local flight period of June to August. Easily located if slender, outer birch branches are lightly tapped.
