Agonopterix subpropinquella  (Stainton, 1849)

Blackneck Buff

A scarce species and currently only recorded on Mingulay, Eriskay and the southern end of South Uist. Generally it can only be accurately identified by dissection, however, the form rhodochrella is easily identified by the unique black thorax. Of the fourteen recorded examples of the species 13 have been of the form rhodochrella. A grassland species which overwinters as an adult.
