Bordered Straw

A rare subtropical immigrant usually confined to the southern counties of England and Wales. First recorded on the Outer Hebrides in June 2009 on South Uist; a second specimen was found in June 2015 on North Uist. The main flight period for Scotland is June to August, usually near the coast. The adult is active by day and night often visiting gardens for nectar.
