Bactra lacteana Caradja, 1916
Sedge Lance
A scarce species which requires dissection to confirm identity due to its similarity to its much commoner relative Bactra lancealana. Found on South Uist and Eriskay when it flies between mid-June to mid-August in damp sedge areas. The larval food-plant is carnation sedge (Carex panacea).
