Epinotia immundana   (Fischer von Röslerstamm, 1839)

Birch Tortrix

A common species with most records from the southern islands, but now found on Lewis as well. The flight period is April to September in two generations. Found in many different habitats including moorland, gardens and woodland rides. Food-plants are mainly alder (Alnus glutinosa) and birches (Betula spp.).
