Lathronympha strigana   (Fabricius, 1775)

Slender Rufous Tortrix

Rare, with just six records from South Uist and Benbecula. Probably under-recorded as the habitat and food-plants are common. The adults occur from May to September over coastal grassland, including machair, and scrub. The larval food-plants are St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) and bird's-foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus).
