Donacaula mucronella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Scarce Water-veneer
A recent coloniser in Scotland and not recorded in the Outer Hebrides until 2019. There is ample suitable habitat, so a population spread is anticipated. Flying from May to July over numerous damp, watery, boggy sites. The larvae feed on bur-reeds, (Sparganium spp.) and sedges, among other aquatics.
