Agrius convolvuli (Linnaeus, 1758)
Convolvulus Hawk-moth
The second most frequent of the migrant hawk-moths; currently (2024), there are 23 records on NBN for the islands. Most occur in the late summer or early autumn. A nocturnal species with a long proboscis which enables it to feed at tubular flowers. Not all records are in yet for 2025 but it is promising to be a good year for this species.
