Pelurga comitata  (Linnaeus, 1758)

Dark Spinach

A scarce species, first found on North Uist in 1977. Not seen again until a run of ten examples between July 2016 and July 2021 from South and North Uist and Lewis. It tends to be found in areas with gardens or trees from July to August. The larvae feed on the flowers and seeds of orache (Atriplex patula) and goosefoot (Chenopodium rubrum).
