Selenia dentaria (Fabricius, 1775)
Early Thorn
Rare. Just two records as of 2024, both from the same site on South Uist. On the wing from April to June in woodland, scrub and gardens. Many species are used by the larvae including hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna), blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) and birches (Betula spp.).
