Hoplodrina octogenaria  (Goeze, 1781)

Uncertain

A scarce species with just 10 confirmed records as of 2024, all from the tip of South Uist and Eriskay. Active from June to August over open landscapes, scrub and gardens. The larvae feed on herbaceous plants including chickweeds (Stellaria spp.) and dead-nettles (Lamium spp.). This species is easily confused with rustic (Hoplodrina blanda) which occupies the same habitats at the same time of year.
