Orthosia cerasi  (Fabricius, 1775)

Common Quaker

A rare moth in the Outer Hebrides, all records are from one location in Lewis with the exception of a single record from South Uist. Variable in colour but characterised by the round, large markings with a pale outline on the forewing. A single generation with adults observed during April and May. The larvae feed on a large range of broadleaved trees.
