A south-western distribution in Scotland, virtually absent from the north and west. Rare in the Outer Hebrides with just a single record from South Uist in 2016. On the wing from May to June in woodland. The larval food-plants are birches (Betula spp.) and other broadleaved trees plus shrubs.
