Marsh Pug

A widespread species over most of Britain but missing from the north-west of Scotland (according to NBN data). First recorded in the Outer Hebrides in 2024. “It flies in May and June, occupying both damp habitats such as marshes and fens, and drier locations like sand dunes and waste ground. The larvae feed on field mouse-ear (Cerastium arvense), consuming the flowers and developing seeds.” – From ukmoths.
