Agriopis aurantiaria (Hübner, [1799])

Scarce Umber

Not scarce at all in Scotland but just two records for the Outer Hebrides: South Uist in November 2019 and Lewis in November 2023. The main flight period is October to December in broadleaved woodland. The larval food-plants are a range of broadleaved trees including birches (Betula spp.).
