Cydia pomonella (Linnaeus, 1758)
Codling Moth
Common in England, occasionally to pest proportions of fruit, rare in Scotland. The only Outer Hebridean record was a larva found in an apple at Askernish, South Uist in November 2019. The flight period is May to September over gardens urban areas and orchards. The larvae feed mainly on apples but other fruits are also used.
