Rare: two light-trapped on 2 September 2018 on South Uist followed by a single on 4 September 2018, which may have been one of the previous examples. Two also came to light on South Uist on 17 September 2024. The Scottish population is spread mainly in the south and east of the country. Found in a mix of gardens, woods, rough pastures, dunes, etc where the larval foodplants grow. These include foxglove (Digitalis purpurea), burdocks (Arctium spp.), thistles (Cirsium spp.) and other large plants.
