Psychoides filicivora (Meyrick, 1937)

Common Fern Moth

First recorded in Stornoway, Lewis in June 2025. A rare species in Scotland with the few records on the west coast. The flight period is from April to October in extended generations and can be seen by day. The foodplants are ferns including shield-fern (Polystichum setiferum) and male-fern (Dropteris filix-mas).
