Laconobia contigua ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Beautiful Brocade

The first VC110 record was light-trapped on South Uist in June 2025. A rather distinctive species, flying from May to July in small numbers over a wide area of west and central Scotland. It favours a variety of heathland and woodland habitats. The caterpillars’ diet includes oaks (Quercus spp.) and birches (Betula spp.).
